Bio: Whitney Center for the Arts is a not for profit, 501(c), organization. We believe in paying our musicians and artists, as we know how hard you all work. Although, we have many different ways of accomplishing that, be it be a guaranteed money, splitting of the door money, tips/donations, etc, rest assured you will not be playing here for free. It all depends upon the event and its goals, and what the market will bare. We can discuss this when we talk with you. We are capable of providing, and in some cases, insist on providing the high-end sound and lighting; however, we are open to discussing the possibilities for musicians to bring their own equipment, which is taken under consideration when calculating the payout to the musicians. Of course, all the payout is agreed upon in advance. More about us: The Whit, as it is affectionately known as, is nestled in the heart of the Berkshires in Pittsfield, We are dedicated to elevating performance and visual arts. Pittsfield is also referred to as “The Brooklyn of the Berkshires”, edgy, creative and an alternative to stodgy and predictable art scenes. The Whit is housed in a historic mansion, just down the road from Tanglewood and Historic Lenox and a scenic drive from Mass MOCA. Pittsfield is the largest city in the Berkshires, the County seat and a growing artistic and cultural hub with several theaters and arts institutions within a few steps of the Whit. We look forward to having you performed @the Whit. Sincerely, Ghazi
