“Sofia Entertains The Ghurkas 26th March 2010 - Sofia has entertained the Ghurkas for the third year running, and has said of this trip, "I absolutely love performing for these men, I am humbled by them. They have just come out of Afghanistan, yet they still have smiles on their faces and really enjoyed the shows. I hope the government treat them with more respect than they have been doing". Sofia gave the Ghurkas a real treat when she performed songs from her not yet released album, "Dishonour", released later this year. The album is a musical documentary of her life, as has been published in her autobiography of a similar name, "Dishonoured".”

“Sofia entertains the Ghurkas for 2 weeks in April, 2009 - Sofia was asked to entertain the troops after they returned from Afghanistan and Iraq. She performed a 45min live PA, singing songs that she had written from the album, "Brit Asian", as well as the classic Hindi song, "Kabhi Kabhi". The show went down so well they have asked her to come back this year. Sofia is the first ever Hindi performer to perform for the Ghurkas, and indeed the first ever "Ghurka Sweetheart", in over 100 years. "It's a great honour to perform for such brave and Loyal men.
