Rogue Male / Press

“In the 80's I saw SAVATAGE and ROGUE MALE and when Jim Lyttle from the ROGUE's took the stage he had total attitude but he had fun doing it…20 years later Jim and ROGUE MALE are back and the boys from Belfast lay down some bad ass blue's based rock that is made to be played loud…To Jim and ROGUE MALE I say Thank You for a great album.”

"...Musically, Rogue Male has a pretty unique sound, but one that probably doomed them from the start. It is somehow both stripped down and slickly produced, making it fall into the gray area between NWOBHM and commercial hard rock. There is a synthetic feel to the whole record that seems intentional but also an undeniable no-bullshit metal swagger as well. It's kind of reverse android: real flesh and blood under a mechanized veneer. The drums have that distinctly 80's gated snare sound and generally stick to a simple (almost dancy) beat, the guitars sound kind of canned but the songs are still hard-driving and Jim Lyttle's vocals are raspy and full of personality..." 87%

"Back in 1985 I laid my teenage hands on a slab of black plastic called “First Visit” by a group called Rogue Male. I played the hell out of that album – and ‘Crazy motorcycle’, ‘All Over You’ et al are still favourites of mine 25 years later... “Nail It” was made with the help of John McCoy, Bernie Torme and Robin Guy (all legends themselves, with credits playing for Gillan, Desperado, Bruce Dickinson, Ozzy Osbourne, Mammoth and Tigertailz between them, and now playing together as GMT) and their professionalism and talent shines through every step of the way..." 3.5/5
