“For the past couple years, Mills and Smith have performed as Rawr Alexis Rawr, a musical project they describe as indie (independent) acoustic, with a elements of folk, rock and pop. Their music is mellow, their music is thought-provoking, their music is fun, Mills said. Mills, 19, of Princeton, and Smith, 20, of LaMoille, have already put out an initial demo album titled “When We Get to the City.” For that six-song project, they went to a recording studio in Dixon. They recently completed a full-length album, with 12 songs, traveling to Paragon Studios in Chicago, for that album. Their music is available through iTunes and at their shows. During a recent interview, Smith and Mills said they met about five years ago while in high school when they both got connected to a local band in Arlington.
