We recently represented an artist that was struggling with many issues in launching a career as a country music artist. Identifying the branding potential was first on our bucket list. The client had an Italian last name which had to go. Can we say country music? Secondly, we recognized that The artist was a pretty good writer, but the songs needed to be on an advanced level in order to compete in todays national music market place. Our solution was to position the artist with a production team and co-writers that would compliment the artists writing style and strengthen the writing potential. Third; once the songs were written and the album was recorded, we had to select a single for the (sacrificial lamb) first the release. Keeping in mind the next thee singles for a continued potential for success. Forth was scripting the first video to complement the first single's release. Fifth was to secure a radio promotion company the truly believes in the artist to promote and support the single. Sixth was to increase the social media presence. Seventh is knowing when to bring in a Publicist that can also support the Social Media efforts, etc.. Attending to these seven key elements could position an artist for success in any genre of music! This does not include the mandatory artist's responsibilities of performances and meet and greets, which is another bucket list!
