Interview with Jason of the band (( Becoming )) part-8

Insane: What inspired you to make music?

Jason: When I was I kid, it was funny. My mom had the actual vinyls records, my mom like Fleetwood Mac, Boston all those and of course she had the Kiss album in there double platinum on vinyls, I was about 4 or 5 when I opened it and I was like oh my god look at this, it was funny looking back and Kiss music wasn't like really heavy, there image was metal they looked brutal but they sounded kinda bubble gum ya know. I got into some Journey when I was a kid, then I think the turning point was the Motley Crue hit shout at the devil then of course there was Metallica and then Slayer then it was a natural progression, So for me it was like at the end of the day when you came home from school , It was like boom! Then Quiet Riot Mental Health album help to drive me mad!, Until my older brother he was into all the metal bands of the 80's stuff like that, you had Metallica you had Motley Crue all those types of bands from that era. I started to gravitate towards the heavier stuff as time moved on, I always thought I wanted to give back to music from what it gave to me. So you turn on the metal and crank it up and nothing more therapeutic than some loud distorted metal guitars and drums in your face, doesn't matter what you have gone threw at the end of the day when your traveling in your car the boom! Turn up the stereo and that is better and it makes you feel good. So that helps our music give back that is the ultimate goal, I'm giving back to music from what music gave to me,

Insane: Any last words?

Jason; Be yourself and stay true and stay strength in numbers, and be different stand out in a crowd, handle your business

Insane: That was Jason the Singer of Becoming here in The Sick House Of Metal Show Atmostfear Entertainment.com

Interview with Jason of the band (( Becoming )) part-7

Insane: What is your favorite place to eat at?

Jason:The place I went for breakfast with my girlfriend this morning here where I live at, there is a place here called Alstar Burger It's like this big open grill. They do breakfast till 11am on the weekends, eggs, bacon, hash browns, coffee and OJ even wheat toast and away ya go. There is another place in town that's a little different than that, its called Me hole Castle it has the big open cooking where you get all you Asian Quasine being cooked right in front of you, I really like that stuff, that's a little off start from the Alster breakfast

Insane: If you wasn't a musician? What would you be doing as like construction work?

Jason: No I would be working High Tech, I wouldn't go out there and work Construction It's not my thing. I could have been a Auto Mechanic but it's not my thing either I would be doing something in Consulting. My day job I do shelving at a high tech company, that gives me the affording to live like a rock star, being a rock star would! It's one of those things like our drummer he does property management maintenance supervisor at a apartment complex. My guitar player Jerry Hes' IT Manager at a school, and I work in high tech and the guitar player Admer he does sales in high tech. Its like self made men you have to make the money to take care of the family and! That's first and foremost, no one like a dead beat musician handling his real work responsibility

Insane: How can your fans access your music like website?

Jason: Yeah you can check us out a a number of places, first and foremost I would say. We have our own band website www.becoming.cc that's our main band page, Then of course we are plugged in to all the social networks. We have facebook.com/becomingband we got myspace.com/becomingband we got a Youtube page which is youtube.com/becomingband and if you use twitter it's twitter/becomingband & our reverbnation page, and sign up and join our mailing list and get some free music down loads from us and that's reverbnation.com/becoming . We where be able to get the Becoming on there, reverbnation is a great tool for musicians because of the aggregate fan status, we are currently ranked #1 in the Bay area, that's for metal aggregate stream down loads, mailing list subscriptions it's the ability to reach your fans a the ability for them to download a song and sign your mailing list and to interact with your fans. Get them to promote for you as well we always say * play it loud and tell your friends * and that works for us. Also years ago we believe we claimed the word fukn metal years ago, we kept saying that . We even made t-shirts then other people was like what!, so we steered away. If you needed to be an emintater it's not easy. We are always going to try and innovate and push the boundaries and for all we are going to stay true to our metal roots, and do something that is not cooky cutter or clea chay or status quo, it's one of those things that you believe in.

Interview with Jason of the band (( Becoming )) part-6

Insane: What advice do you have for other or upcoming bands

Jason: first of all be perfection in you instrument & love playing first of all you pick up a guitar and head to the pool with the chick, something like that , chances are you are not going to look that cool doing that but are you gong to get that many chicks playing metal, but! At the end of the day you don't get rich ya know, Do it because you love to do it you have something to say meaningful. Then if you get that component then its in your blood heart and soul pick up some books , learn about the business.. you have to know about your business/copy rights and your publishing rights you licensing rights your royalty rights, where does your royalty rights come from?. How much do you get payed for a DL of a stream how much do you get payed for selling a fiscal price for your CD FIA Paypal direct or putting it on Amazon direct and letting them sell your stuff, work out the masses and number, figure out how the business works, Then you could actually afford too ya know have your music pay for its' self , i'm not rich I have bills to pay, The reality is I get up in the morning and go to work, the I come home and head to the studio then put the set up and BOOM BOOM BOOM! I'm rocking till the sun comes up its the way its got to be. Learn the business that way your don't get taking advantage of. First of all once you get the moment going for you every one to get a piece of it. Don't screw it over be smart about it and think of it as a business. But for of more the core love what your doing make it meaningful and make it count. ((Insane: you got to love what your doing)) thanks man

Insane: If you could play on a dream tour? Where would it be?

Jason: If I had to put together my dream tour time and space would be no obstacles, I would go with Mater Of Puppets Era would be be headline, I would get Slayer Era 1,000 heaven - Slayer, I would get Far Beyond Driven Era – Pantera , and I would get , Among The Living Era Anthrax, I might even throw in Black Sabbath on there, they where powerful originators of their sound metal, their not playing a million miles an hr but it still has the metal core to it, the loud guitars the heavy driving drums and, social commentary I would defendantly throw some of those bands in there. Now days I would be like man if you want in tours lets go, like Inflames, Devil Driver I love Armon Amarth their good, my cousin is a Armon Amarth fanatic, It's like I'd change hes' name to Armon Amarth, It's a beautiful pic that that someone can find and really dig it, and relate to it.

Interview with Jason of the band (( Becoming )) part-5

Insane: Who writes your songs

Jason: Well its kind of a collaborate Evert some times I'll set down in the studio and I'll pick up a guitar and I'll write a riff and track it, then I'll throw a bass line to it, sometimes I'll throw a drum beat to it and what ever but things you hear on the album you think on Sonic Revelations there's one song we actually kept a drum trace i did and then the drummer came over and said dude! Why should I re-record it that's impressive Amer comes in and he'll do the soles' and most of the time it will be me and Jerry kinda knocking around the guitar and Bass riffs, and trading parts and coming up with the frame work structuring the song, Ceaser will come over and we will hear kinda like the drum beat, that I'll try to do I'll play a beat and man its like I have two left feet, then we will set down and say this is what the drums should sound like, so I think one of thew things that helps our song I can hear the songs from every angle right! If I was a guitar centric I would try to make the song around the solo and the guitar, bit if I was a drummer I would concentrate on something different, So just trying to bring a good a slow structure, I'm not going to be the most INSANE guitar player in the world I could become some one better or the best drummer in the world I always have respect for people that crack there instrument to be perfection in every instrument, I'm concentrating on making good songs because look at Steve Fey Hes' a great guitar player, but when you want to hear someone play a guitar like Joe Statravanie or Steve Fey, real bunner lead players, thats' one thing it's almost like a one trick pony , if you ever heard a song by Steve Fey its like a radio hit like a Metallica song ya know or a Pantera song it has all!! the elements, so we have to concentrate I appose to the hole individual (( Insane: songs GREAT! ))

Insane: What is the allotment direction for your band

Jason: To put out music that is quality music content and lyrical content, It's more far reaching than your far metal band, most of the metal bands that are in the underground are going to stay in the underground, Their not going to go one the Radio their they say your a sell out on the Radio..not really, If you actually make it to the radio. First of all as a metal band Then you lucky..Metallica broke threw and some say you have Pantera. Now days you have Bullet for my valentine & Av7 , it's changed its more the main stream metal, we like to retain our metal roots ya know. It's funny we just signed this deal with Warner Electric Atlantic that’s all our records they have good trace records for success , we are in the charts of the top 100 more times than I can count, it is a political game a musical industry with and the organizations to work with, and what you can do one your own with that (( Insane: that's almost got my next question right there))

Interview with Jason of the band (( Becoming )) part-4

Insane: How long have you know each other, and how did you meet?

Jason: Oh man we have known each other for along time Seether and I our drummer we were friends since 94 or 95 something like that. We were in another band previously. And jerry and I have been friends about the same amount of time. He had another job as a side business he was doing like video filming for like bands, we have met Jerry along the way. We have really liked him been friends ever since. And when he first started he played bass, Then switched to Guitar, u know? So its nice when everyone can hear the song or approach the song from a different prospective on the instrument side of things. Then Amear we met like 10 years ago.. But its all based on friendship and respect and common goal that to make the heaviest music possible thats actually meaning full and not talking about killing babys or raping dogs.. ((Insane: so yo been listening to my music hu? )) Sometimes when I hear these bands, Yea you have a nice drummer or a guitar is nuts, Then the singer comes on.. Then you are like Really man? Are you the boogie monster or something you sound real tuff, mean, dark, and evil. Thats just kinda stupid to me. Like how I sing. We have the heavy metal/cookie monster type backups and heavymetal type singing.. But come on now.. you boys are really not that low.. You use pitch hard optimizer dropped it hella hella low.. your frequency range kinda sounds like a fart... Its gotta be more to it to get me moved.. Any genra of music again is going to have the dream rises to the top I think and to really stand out you gotta do your own thing alittlebit you know? Again I don't think they come in towns like any of these bands but I give them more respect and be like Wow I really like this band they gotta be more to me like the glass beat and the drop tuning and things like that.. Sing about something relevant. Your talking about Ends Of Days (( Insane: I love End Of Days I listen to all you songs in the mornings, checking e-mails I just open my Winamp and listen to them over and over)) Nice that's funny, that's the first song that we came out we recorded for Sonic Revelations we released it as a demo mix, and it ended up on different websites like Reverbnation & number one music and some of the other sites that are coming, It kinda shot up that we where in first place shot with these overall bands, there was like 20.000 bands and End Of Days was peaking at the number charts peaking number 1 for 6 -7 weeks, we new at that point we needed to polish it up and put in on the album and there it is and people liked it

Interview with Jason of the band (( Becoming )) part-3

that you go to work, It’s the money that is a tool, there's and old saying that musicians have day jobs, the music habit is expensive unless your Aerosmith on one of these Kenya Wes or Lady Gaga or something, your probably not playing music for a living at this point, even like if you look at the top metal bands Black Sabbath yeah! You can do it its how many years they have invested the business angle is handled so it's a simple tasks to make somethings complex, and a complex tasks to make something simple, If we could all play music for a living that would be great but. But the reality is that we have day jobs too, to support our music habit

Insane: Do you have any upcoming shows anywhere?

Jason: We are working on a couple things, we have been concentrating on a couple things recording our next album probably like 6 songs 7 songs in threw the process and doing the follow up ((Insane: when will it be out?)) Jason: we don't have a time frame right now, we are in no big rush, its kinda funny we still have gas in the tank off from Sonic Revelations, here we are that we recently we released in the end of 2009 so we still have gas in the tank, doing Radio stuff, doing playing shows along the way we just signed with SLR Records playing a traditional we signed a license deal and a agreement to put our music in TV movies films games, we are pretty excited at what the potential what could be coming up this summer, don't want to jinks anything with some certain placements in any movies, so they are putting us out there with the single should launch at the end of this summer, but again the wanted to do some things us, and I was real vigilance about the business end , I said alright well your the label, yea! But we have been self produced since day one, fully independent running our own show, selling our records doing our own business, it pays for itself. Then the label wants to step in and get a piece of that you know, all the musicians out there take note that handling your own business on the front end and treating it like a business, it will save you a lot of headaches in the long run, when it comes to the label then you have more bargaining room for what your going to allow, so stay in the drivers seat we are basically hope that their distribution channel their licensing channel radio promotion channel and stuff like that is a value to us as a business, it's a challenge as a artist to get the music out to the brick and mortar stores, yea everyone buys them on Rapsady Napster they do all this , but you have to be out there at the best buy store too, some people still want the CD in hand

Interview with Jason of the band (( Becoming )) part-2

Insane: What is the Origin of your bands name?

Jason: Quite simply a bunch of yrs ago, I was actually traveling abroad and ended up in lots places like the local Hard Rock Cafe the have the most reliable food, depends on where you go, there was the recurring theme that I came across there was one of the old founders guy named Sied Babba he was a old world semiofficial guy , that said their was a saying Reality is lost in dreaming and dreaming is lost in Becoming. Reality it taking by dreaming, so it just happened that Pantera had a song called Becoming too its a bad ass song, so there it is has served us well , we have just got out federal trade mark Official in the mail, boom! a stamp for the US government for them to recognize us as a full identity

Insane: What are the names of your band members

Jason: Sure. Me Jason I sing and play Bass I also play several instruments at different time we have a Rhythm Guitar player name Jerry , he also does back up vocals, he played Bass on our first album too, then we traded, I played guitar on our first album, lead guitar player hes' name is Admir, and our drummers name is Ceaser . Ever body plays multiple Instruments, our drummer will play the shit out of Guitar Hero like no one else s business , he actually understands what its like to become a guitar player at a certain degree (next to guitar hero)

Insane: What has become your biggest challenge as a band?

Jason: Biggest challenge as a band, is just everyday real world life, you know what I mean, so here's the thing, its not about how good you are it's how your going to last, I believe that there's so many bands out there with a lot of talent, they may not make it and there is bands that have questionable levels talent, they make it. I think for us our biggest challenge as a band is what has to do with the obstacles of life that goes throws your way now and then, we all believe in the music we are all a unit we all play music for the love of music not for money officially to try to play for the love of money your not going to make much, but like for example. I took some time off I'm a dad and I have children 2 kids, and when your going threw the hole...Ok I'm going to become a dad, and, then you theorize, then you have your day job and your real world life

Interview with Jason from the band ( Becoming ) part-1

Interview with Jason the singer of the band Becoming. Here in Atmostfear-Entertainment.com Sick House Of Metal Show

Insane: Finally now good to hear from you.

Jason: Good to be heard from.

Insane: You are now listen to Jason a singer form the band called Becoming, he has some great songs on Reverbnation.com page, it explains a lot.

Insane: What is the genre of your music considered to be?

Jason: At the core of it its metal , I would says black metal grindcore metal. it incompresess all different genres I believe, something that's more far reaching. We try not to pitch and pull ourselves, we not saying we are black metal over grindcore, as soon as you try and put a label on it and put it in a box, the it kinda become homogenized, then you have like 100 bands saying it sounds exactly like that. I don't think you could put Becoming in one particular category, only because of certain moments you might think!! of like some OH! early Metallica, oh think of some Pink Floyd think of some Slayer some Pantera at certain points along the way, it's different for each listener I think so. I heard people put their own take on it
