Britt Festival

So I definitely saw The Expendables, Steel Pulse and Slightly Stoopid at Britt Fest on June 18th. It seems like a lifetime ago but I wanted to just say that it was my first time at Britt and it was a BLAST!! I highly recommend going. If anyone is on the fence about seeing a show there, DO IT! You won't regret it.

Slightly was amazing, as usual! I was sort of high up on the lawns so visibility of the stage was limited but the show itself was off the hook. The music was magical and the vibes were nothing but positive.

It's so refreshing to see a good show like that, makes me appreciate life and all the positivity that music can bring to it.

MUCH LOVE 3

Dead Sea Pedestrians at Shenanigans

I saw Dead Sea Pedestrians tearing it up at Shenanigans Saturday night. They are not my favorite local band of course but they know how to work the crowd! Plus, the lead vocalist and guitar player, Dan, is always good for a laugh! Saturday was in fact Captain Morgan's birthday so there were plenty of people out and about, getting intoxicated and generally being rowdy. I was digging the local music scene and enjoying a tasty beverage or two, but now it's Monday once again and it's back to work. Why can't the weekends last forever!?

Flight of the Conchords!

Guess who just got her Flight of the Conchords tix in the mail!!?? THIS CHICK!! Oh yea, I am so stoked! May 28th at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, I will be there with bells on, baby! Anyone else going!? Get your tix now, they are pretty much sold out :/

Off beat

I've been a bit off beat lately, I think I'm coming down with something :( I feel like I've missed so much in my absence!! Tallboy played a bunch and I missed Dryseason which is a major bummer!! Oh well, I'll just have to check it all out online I suppose. Anyone got any exciting news from the shows?? I heard Tallboy was awesome at Shenanigans, saw some pretty rad pics from their show. Dryseason always rocks my world so there's no surprise there. Anyone check out any of the local shows in Ashland the last couple weekends? I have decided I need to explore Ashland more, there's way too many cool shows going on down there that I always seem to miss out on just because it's a bit out of the way. Well, no more, I'm going to start making the effort to get out there more often. Who's with me!?

Tallboy's 4/26 Show

Last night was Tallboy's show at Vibes. Any one go? Everyone enjoy it? Details please!

I have a lot of respect for the guys of Tallboy, they just seem so driven to succeed and with the quality of music they produce I believe that is exactly what they will do! Check out their myspace page for upcoming shows and to check out their latest blog postings. A recent interview with hurdcore.com is posted and I think it really illuminates the passion that drives these talented individuals we all know and love. Check it out!

Can't wait to see them play this Friday at Shenanigans with Sickciety! Be there early, stay there late, support your local music scene. 3

MACHINE at Shenanigans

So I didn't end up going to Ashland as planned, lack of funds was mostly to blame, but proximity also played a role. Not to worry though, I did get to see MACHINE play at Shenanigans on Friday night. I'd never heard of them prior to this performance and even though they were only playing covers, it wasn't a bad set. Plus, they get major points because the lead singer/guitarist pulled our a keytar at one point! I loved it! Their 80's covers were sick and despite suffering some minor technical difficulties I would have to say they rocked it!

Torn...

I'm torn between which concert to go to tonight, there are 3 that sound good...oh decisions, decisions!

The first is Frogburd at IPub in Ashland. I've never actually seen them live but the tracks I have heard are solid and I have only heard good reviews. Plus, IPub is always a good night out!!

The second is Natural Vibrations at Alex's in Ashland. I've never seen these guys live either but I love reggae and have been in a bit of a reggae mood as of late. I think this could be a sweet, groovin' time. The only downside is, Alex's can get really crowded, especially when there's live music. Hmm...

The third is Sun Spot Jonz, Aceyalone and Pioneers of Now at the Black Butte Saloon in Weed, CA. This one is obviously kind of a trek, but Aceyalone alone would be worth it!

As of right now, I'm leaning towards a night out in Ashland so I can see both Frogburd and Natural Vibrations for a bit. It just seems like a shame to not see Aceyalone and Sun Spot Jonz when they are so close! Thoughts, anyone??

Britt Festival

SLIGHTLY STOOPID, STEEL PULSE and THE EXPENDABLES are coming to the Britt Festival!! Just when I was getting sad because I missed the Expendable's show last night I hear this little pearl of fabulosity!

Get your tickets early people! I will see you there 3

Dryseason's 4/20 Show

Last night was Dryseason's 4/20 show at Tom's Guitar Warehouse in Medford. The turnout wasn't as impressive as one might have hoped, but the energy level was high and the show was incredible!

Rishloo absolutely blew my mind!! The vocalist, Andrew, was completely hypnotizing and I was blown away by the talent of the band members David, Sean and Jesse! Rishloo, originally from Seattle, was on their way back from a California tour but you wouldn't know that they were on the road; their set felt so comfortable and real, I had to buy the CD!

Dryseason's set, though a bit short in my opinion, was great as usual! The vocals were ground shaking and the guitar solos were epic! Mo always cracks me up when he goes for strolls through the crowd and Cake is such a spectacle in himself you can't help but have fun watching him. I can't wait for the album release party!!

I hope the Trove is as much fun tonight!
