one HOT cool night at Le Casino de Paris' July 29, 2008

one HOT CHICAGO night in Paris, July 29, 2008 What can I say?! This Chicago concert in Paris at Le Casino de Paris, on this HOT summernight was one of the most excellent LIVE concerts I've ever seen! And HOT it sure was. Le Casino de Paris is a beautiful theatre but has NO AIRCO. At least I didn't feel anything of it. I was seated upstairs, 2nd row, had a good view of the stage but man, it was just too hot to be seated at all. So I left my place and went 2 steps down leaning over the balcony. Pretty soon I was tipped on my shoulder. I wasn't allowed to stay there but I told the woman in my best French that I was suffering form a high blood pressure (which is true) and that this was 'killing' me if I had to stay in my seat. She allowed me to stay there! I started to make a vid of the band from the balcony, seeing the guys right in front of my cam without any 'heads' before me. I knew then, this night was going to be one of the HIGHLIGHT CONCERTS I've ever seen. Every song they started I went crazy. The sound was awesome and they all looked so happy to be there! I remember Robert saying in Februari 2008 to the people of Oakland : "You're catching us fresh" but - here in Paris - we catched the guys MORE than fresh, self-confident and so happy and contented, they had a huge welcome in Europe after so many years! Which I knew that would be the case. I think they changed the setlist for Europe 'cause I really thought I'd never heard them play 'I'm a Man' and 'Make Me Smile' LIVE again. I'm one lucky girl! Also I enjoyed Robert so much with 'Wake Up Sunshine' and they played SOS! He was 'the Man in black' this night! As always he looked gorgious. It was awesome! Fortunately I heard Robert say "we're gonna take a short break, see you all after the break " and I had this 'old-fashioned' good feeling. The feeling like I was in heaven, seeing and hearing my all time favorite musicians. I ran down the stairs, went outside for some fresh air. I was flabbergasted about this 1st part of the concert. It was overwhelming. After the break, I didn't want to go up on the balcony so I just walked into the big 'hall', heard some Dutch people and started to talk. I thought I was the only DUTCH fan in there. They told me there was one seat available next to them so I sat down! But when Chicago started to play again, I noticed everyone was still seated and I'm always the 1st one who gets up so I did and went towards the stage. And then finaly, while playing all the golden oldies, the audience started to get up also and we all had a blast! I could see the guys on stage had real fun doing their 'thing'. During the break, my 'myspace' friend Chardeau called me on my cellphone and said he was looking for me.He promised me to take me backstage afterwards. So I looked him up. Couldn't miss him with his beautiful long hair. I felt like an over excited teenager and I didnt care whether I'd look foolish or not. After the show I met Chardeau and his friends and he just took me backstage right away. My heart was pounding... So there I was in this quite small and dark ambiance and after a while I saw Robert walk in. Before I knew it, I shaked his hand and thanked him for more than 40 years of siginificant music in my life and this extremely good 'live' concert in Paris. He's so kind, he's so goodlooking, I was just in awe. And his smile..WOW! The I saw Jason coming in. Really I never knew I would feel this way, so grateful, so nervous. To be able to thank Jason. Since he joined Chicago in the 80's I was overwhelmed with the sound of HIS voice and the sound of his bassguitar. It was also a great feeling to be able to thank Jason for more than 20 years of his music. And I got a big hug from mr. ROCKBODY SUPERSTAR himself. I'm able to show you some excellent pictures. They're not all mine but I got them from Chardeau as a souvenir. Merci beaucoup Chardeau! Je t' embrasse.
