Greetz to all, my name is Charles (Chuck) Den-Baars, and i have the distinction of being one of the first Electronic music Pioneers in Tucson! There is maybe only one other guy i can think of that may have started at about the same time as i did... that would be Barry Smith who had a project way back called "Loudness One" I started going Electronic back in X-mas of 1980 after playing Rock and Metal as a Drummer in the 1970's. By spring 1981 i had some very primitive equipment of my own and started recording my own Industrial experiments. After being immediately influenced by bands like Gary Numan, Kraftwerk, Ultravox, Cabaret Voltaire, and John Foxx... as soon as i heard what was coming out of England and especially Germany, i knew i had to give up on Rock which was dying at that time!
I have been in many different Electronic bands since then, most notably Psycho-Beat, Brash, and Galusha. My current band right now is called Kalter Trost, and consists of me on all Synths, samplers, and sequencing, etc, and Aaron Hess, on vocals and lyrics. We have only played two gigs so far as Kalter Trost, but have been well received so far... We have played at the Rock and at Club Asylum, and are available for support for touring Synth acts who may play here! We have a sound that has elements of Trance, E.B.M. Industrial, and Synth-pop. Our lyrics and samples are full of Science- Fiction and futuristic ideas and thoughts. We have more in common with European bands than we do American ones who not too many play this kind of music.
Kalter Trost has music On sites like My Space and Vampire Freaks. We are currently finishing a debut cd, and may self release it when done. Our studio is in my home and is called Voodoo Manor Studio, and is filled with various Synths, Drum- Machines, samplers, drum pads and other gadgets that i have collected over the years since i started. Electronic music keeps me youthful, most other guys my age have burned out, and don't make music any more... not me!!
