Pop Music's Next Mega Star: Destenee!

Hello once again, this is your gentleman, and music man Shayon Daniels. As you guys know I am a HUGE fan of music. I tear up at every Grammy show, I walk to work with Kanye West, eat dinner with The Beatles, fall asleep with The Neptunes in my ear, and then wake up to breakfast with Alicia Keys! I listen to music on the regular, and right now I'm listening to the infectious sounds of singer/songwriter/producer/pianist/guitarist Destenee McKenzie! I first saw Destenee perform at the Impact Record Pool meeting in Los Angeles. After seeing her perform I knew she had everything necessary to become Pop music's next MEGA STAR! She had the look, the vocal ability, the dance moves, and the presence of a truly gifted individual. After the meeting, I met up with her to catch a sneak peek of her new album "Free" due to hit stores soon. Destenee has a unique quality about her that makes her irresistible. Growing up in the small town of Winchester Massachusetts, Destenee cultivated her craft. With the desire to relate to people from all walks of life, Destenee made her move to Los Angeles. Destenee attended the Musicians Institute, in Holywood, where she fine tuned her skills as a sound engineer. Since her move she has performed with George Clinton, Brian McKnight, and Pink just to name a few. So lets get down to the "nitty gritty". Destenee has a strong sense of self, and she has a love for her fans that should very well be noted. She told me that after a major show in L.A, she stayed behind for FOUR hours straight, just to meet everyone who wanted to meet her. All of her songs are uplifting, and they encourage strength and self respect. Not only that, but she draws from so many musical genres that you can hear a little of everything in her music. From the Hip Hop driven "Mistery Man" to the Pop favorite "Free", Destenee showcases her arsenal of talents...it's enough to make a grown man cry! Overall, I believe Destenee is Destined for greatness, and I will be there to see it happen along with everyone else. http://www.imeem.com/destenee http://www.myspace.com/desteneemusic Shayon Daniels

"Magic" Robin Thicke New Single

Hey whats goin on my peoples? As Robin Thicke, the modern day front man of "Blue Eyed Sould" gets ready to release his third album titled "Something Else", we get ready to take a trip down memory lane once again. Now you may say, "Shayon your a young buck, what do you mean take a trip down memory lane"? Well I have an old soul, and Thicke's new single, "Magic", does this sould good. "Magic", has a very a classic soul feel to it. It reminds me of a Curtis Mayfield song. The production features a lot of dramatic strings, and a nice bass line. The drums sound really full. I'm a sucker for live instruments in popular music today. Everything sounds dated but this is not a bad thing. Robin stays true to his roots as a soul man. His ad libs include a lot of "yeahs" and "woos" kind of like Marvin Gaye, and in the past Robin's falsetto has been his calling card, so this song is no different. In the song, Robin says's "I got it, you got it, we got the magic baby", as he plays the part of the smooth crooner again. I think "Magic" is a good look for Robin. Thicke has a very mature sound, and I believe this song will do well because it caters to that 25 and older crowd that Robin appeals to. Plus I'm a soul man myself, and I can appreciate good soul music any day of the week! Check it out! Shayon Daniels

"Energy" Keri Hilson

Hey so this is your's truly Shayon Daniels, and I'm sharing my opinion with YOU the music lover. Ok so I'm at home about to go to sleep and I turn to TRL on MTV, and I see Keri Hilson getting ready to debut her new single "Energy" off her debut solo album "In A Perfect World" set to come out later this year. Now first of all I believe the album is going to be fire, because Keri is a good writer and Timbo is producing most of the album. So as for the video "Energy", I think it was pretty fly. Keri is playing the part of a Boxer and her dude in the video is that cat from Tyler Perry's plays, and he was the guy who got shanked by Ashanti in "The Way That I Love You". Now the video is very grimey looking, and Keri is frustrated with her love intrest, because they're relationship is on the rocks and he's not working hard enough to save it. Hilson gave a performance in this video, and the hand movements she was doing in the video did kind of remind you of Avatar or somebody, but I dug it. In all I like the video, and I think it's going to do well. Most guys are just going to see Keri in the boxing outfit and that'll make'em watch, and most women are going to relate to the subject matter of the song. Check it out Shayon Daniels
