6 - Lets Have Some Fun
7 - Back Door Man
8 - So Good
9 - High Maintenance Woman
10 - Tell Me What You Want
11 - Liberated Lady
12 - Worlds Apart
Legendary Soul & Blues Man, Charles Wright, re - releases "High Maintenance Woman". This is one of the best "feel good" albums ever made. This album was originally released in 2003 and baby it was just time to come back and show folks how it's supposed to be done. You will be in the "Wright Zone" in a flash. Charles Wright of the Legendary 103rd St. Rhythm Band is well known for his exceptional songs. "Express Yourself" and "Do Your Thing" were huge hits and continue dazzle listeners to this day.
Charles Wright has the uncanny ability to make you forget all your woes. He will have you grooving and swinging in no time. If you have a heart beat... you are going to love this album. The sound of the instrumentation on this album is far superior to many you hear hot off the press these days.
Piano, bass, guitars, sax, trombone, trumpets and drums, yes it's a real big sound. Experienced and exceptional musicians make this album what it is. Then add a brilliant production, fantastic mastering and recording, just look what you can do. Charles Wright, a man who knows his way around a song, brings it all together with his tasty vocal style. You will be packing your suitcases and moving in.
The three tracks I have shimmied aside are:
1 - See Saw Woman
Oh Baby, what a great track to start the album off with. This has a steady, bluesy, groove that will have your feet talking to the floor. The instrumentation on this track is beyond belief. The piano is on fire. This is one of my favorites from the album for sure. Charles Wright owns his place in our Blues Zone. He earned it. What a brilliant job on vocals. The lyrics on "See Saw Woman " are very well written. The Orchestration is a musicians dream.
2 - High Maintenance Woman
Charles Wright brings this song out straight from his toes. This track will have you snapping your fingers and shaking your head. Charles Wright is definitely in "the zone" with this one. The Instrumentation is unbelievably good from start to finish. What I love most about this track is that you feel like you are right there with the band. Bands have been trying to achieve that feeling from their listeners for years. Charles Wright was born to do this and it shows. Lyrics are breathtaking! As an added treat, there is an amazing trumpet solo neatly tucked in half way through the track. Very juicy indeed.
3 - Bad Reputation
Now this track caught my attention because of the old blues school feel to it. Oh, Charles Wright sings this track like he knows what hes talking about. This is a head boppin, finger snappin, eyes closin, hot little number. Charles Wright gets down and dirty with this track. The band follows him willingly. This is the kind of song you remember and love through all the years. Great lyrics, fantastic orchestration without feeling constrained. You get the feeling that the boys are going to break loose any second. Absolutely a winner.
I highly recommend Charles Wright - High Maintenance Woman. If you have a heartbeat.. you will love it. Come on get yourself into the "Wright Groove Zone"

Bread and Buddha
Is there anyone in the world left who hasn't fallen in love with Harry Manx I wonder? This incredible singer songwriter has swept our imagination and groove level to an all time high with his latest album called "Bread and Buddha". Harry Manx hits so many genres he has blurred the lines forever. He has been put into Blues, Soul, Roots, World and Folk genres but is really known for his "Manx Zone".
This gifted musician is a world traveller and is one of the hardest working artists I know. His tours taking him far and wide from his home base of Saltwater Springs, BC, Canada. His unique style blends a heavy influence from the far east with the blues and roots of the western culture. It makes for an unforgettable experience to all who hears it. Harry studied under the watchful eye of Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, who invented the 20 string Mohan Veena, for 5 years. This is Harry's signature instrument, although he uses a number of guitars in his work including his beloved slide guitar.
Harry Manx has 9 albums including "Bread and Buddha", all complete marvels. "Bread and Buddha" was released in 2009 and has hit the floor running. Harry has a sexy vocal style that demands attention. Mix that with his smooth instrumentation and production on this album and you are sold for life. "Bread and Buddha" has 10 tracks, all brilliant. He takes you on a musical quest through stories and emotions. No one can tell a story like Harry Manx.
The three tracks I have chosen for this review, as difficult as it was, are:
1) Nine Summers Lost - Harry Manx has outdone himself on this track. His songwriting skills shine through on "Nine Summer Lost". His instrumentation exceeds our expectations. I defy you to sit still as this has a blues groove that necessitates a head bop, toe tap or desk drum. This song is well orchestrated and produced. It shows the work of an experienced musician indeed.
2) Moon goin down - This is a tasty track done in a blues feel. The story line is exceptional, just as you knew it had to be. Harry makes it look easy. His smooth groove swallowing up every nerve ending you own. You will be in the Harry "Manx Zone" in seconds. Instrumentation is brilliant, the sound of guitar and keyboards rounding out this remarkable song.
3) Walkin Ghost Blues - This is one of my all time favorites. Harry holds your attention with strong songwriting. Once again his vocal sweeps you deep within the tale, with his exceptional instrumentation locking the door. Lawd, don't rescue me, this is exactly where we want to be.
Honorable mentions to "Humble Me" & "Long Black Veil". Both these songs are absolutely mesmerizing.
"Bread and Buddha" is one of the most incredible albums I have heard in years. It's the kind of album you will never tire of. Harry Manx has something for everyone, young and old. He is the most generous artist with his audiences, I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He tours a lot of the year, giving his fans the opportunity to see him live. If you ever have the opportunity, give yourself the gift of the "Manx Zone".
If you have yet to hear Harry Manx, I strongly recommend "Bread and Buddha". You too can be in the Harry "Manx Zone"!!

Adam Eckersley Band
A.E.B. EP Review
www.myspace.com/adameckersleyband
Location: Australia
Genre: Funk, Rock, Blues
EP - A.E.B.
Adam Eckersley Band Members:
Adam Eckersley (Lead Guitar, Lead Vocals, Harmonica, Songwriter)
Jason Bone (Saxophonist)
Rudy Miranda (Drums)
Ammiel Warner (Hammond Organ and Keyboard)
Scott Greenaway (Bass Guitar)
Track Listing for A.E.B.
1) - Drive It Home
2) - Hot In Here
3) - Jokers Smile
4) - I Surrender
5) - Love Strike
Australian born Adam Eckersley, formed the brilliant 5 piece Adam Eckersley Band early in 2010. Adam Eckersley, Jason Bone, Rudy Miranda, Ammiel Warner and Scott Greenway make up the A.E.B.. What a talented band line up. These are some of the hardest working musicians in Australia and have the most loyal of fans. From what I see in this little taster EP, for very good reason.
A.E.B. EP has 5 tracks, but they hit like a full bodied 15 track album. The level of expertise from these artists, is off the wall. The production is fabulous. The lyrics are well thought out, transporting the listener well within the story line of the songs. It just goes to show what one can accomplish when you have 5 people 100% bought in to the project.
Adam Eckersley has certainly exceeded expectations vocally. Fans would walk miles to watch him perform and this is why. Adam is not afraid to try something new, stretch himself and grow. This EP certainly proves that. The funk groove blues sound in these tracks will entrench themselves into your blood stream. You will still be humming the melody for hours after hearing them. Orchestration ... simply breathtaking. Its cool man.
In fact, I am still in the A.E.B. Zone !
With the A.E.B. EP having 5 tracks I will only single out one track but I have to say, I find that difficult to do. Each and every track on this EP is absolutely top notch. When you actually listen to the vocals, instrumentation, lyrics and hit the "A.E.B. Funk Zone" you will understand why. These tracks are hard to beat.
The track I have singled out is:
Hot In Here - I had to choose this track. It has a bluesy, funk, groove hard to ignore. Its a sexy track showcasing Adam Eckersley's strong vocal skills and fabulous guitar. Jason Bone kicks it on saxaphone and hey.. listen to that strong bass line.. played by Scott Greenway. Ammiel rips it up with the hammond & keys. And just so we all go home feeling satisfied, Rudy punches it up a notch with drums. Simply outstanding guys!
Every track on this EP shines. This is one of those few EP's you let play from front to back, then let it rip again. Each track is as good as the one before. It will be one of those EP's you still play in 20 years. This band has only just begun to amaze us. If you ever have an opportunity to see this band live, do it. A.E.B. Has a stage presence that is remarkable! Adam Eckersley holds us all in the palm of his hand. Definitely grab this EP for your music library!!

Benny Ferander hales from Stockholm Sweden and has done them proud with his new release called "Layin' Down The Line". A generous 10 track album filled to the brim with delicious delta blues. This album features some of THE best acoustic guitar picking we have heard in years. The National slide is enough to curl your toes with delight. Benny nails the vocals and has us glued to our seats for the entire album.
This is blues like it should be, pure heaven. Instrumentation is fabulous on "Layin' Down The Line". Simply hypnotic. The production and mixing is exceptional. Benny has the most amazing style and vocal, leaving us wanting more Benny Fernader! He has taken advantage Brian Kramer, Mats Qwarfordt and Ake Lindberg for some brilliant backup vocals and it works! The experience behind this album shines through easily. This is smooth, easy blues and takes you deep into another realm. A realm of where blues rules and these are the kings.
The tracks I have set aside for this review are:
1)
Laying Down Line - This is an absolutely brilliant song. It tells the story of Benny Ferander's great great grandfather who travelled to the promised land and worked on the train tracks in New York to feed his family. He died working in those tunnels in a collapse in 1906 laying down the line. The sound of Benny's vocal as he tells the story, takes you on a journey back in time. Acoustic Guitar, harmonica and backup vocals completing the delta blues feel, framing Benny Ferander's lead vocals into a wonderful trip. ****** stars!
2)
Standing On The Moon - This is an upbeat track about life and understanding. Great advice and good way to look at life. Benny Ferander nails the vocals on this song. Backup vocals are presented by Brian Kramer along with National guitar. Smooth blues just the way we love it. ****** stars!
3)
Walkin' Blues (Robert Johnson) - Benny Ferander does an exceptional job on this track. You will be leaning into this song. Benny sings "Walkin Blues" from deep in his soul and takes us along for the ride. The acoustic guitar, played by Ake Lindberg sets this track on fire. ****** stars.
Let me tell you, I did it, tough choosing only 3 tracks. This entire album is an unmitigated success! Benny Ferander has a unique style that is catchy! He epitomizes what true blues means. "Layin' Down The Line" has it all going on. Brilliant production, excellent choices in songs, exceptional vocals and instrumentation. A must have for your music library!! Congratulations Benny Ferander on this marvelous example of what blues should sound like. Grab your copy today!

Charles Wright - High Maintenance Woman Review www.ExpressYourself.net High Maintenance Woman Track List: 1 - See Saw Woman 2 - Reconsider Baby 3 - Good Loving Man 4 - Bad Reputation 5 - She Believed In Me 6 - Lets Have Some Fun 7 - Back Door Man 8 - So Good 9 - High Maintenance Woman 10 - Tell Me What You Want 11 - Liberated Lady 12 - Worlds Apart Legendary Soul & Blues Man, Charles Wright, re - releases "High Maintenance Woman". The three tracks I have shimmied aside are: 1 - See Saw Woman Oh Baby, what a great track to start the album off with. 2 - High Maintenance Woman Charles Wright brings this song out straight from his toes. 3 - Bad Reputation Now this track caught my attention because of the old blues school feel to it. Come on get yourself into the "Wright Groove Zone" that's just how I see it Shashona McCall

Harry Manx - Bread and Buddha Review www.harrymanx.com & www.myspace.com/harrymanx www.reverbnation.com/harrymanx Location: Saltspring Island BC, Canada Genre: Blues, World Folk Album: Bread and Buddha Bread and Buddha track list: Nine Summers Lost True to Yourself Dew On The Roses Walking Ghost Blues Your Eyes Have Seen Humble Me Moon Goin' Down Love Is The Fire Long Black Veil The Unspoken Quest Produced by Harry Manx & John Bailey Dog My Cat Records www.dogmycatrecords.ca Bread and Buddha Is there anyone in the world left who hasn't fallen in love with Harry Manx I wonder? The three tracks I have chosen for this review, as difficult as it was, are: 1) Nine Summers Lost - Harry Manx has outdone himself on this track. Review on Adam Eckersley Band - A.E.B. EP Indie Showcase
Adam Eckersley Band A.E.B. EP Review www.myspace.com/adameckersleyband Location: Australia Genre: Funk, Rock, Blues EP - A.E.B. Adam Eckersley Band Members: Adam Eckersley (Lead Guitar, Lead Vocals, Harmonica, Songwriter) Jason Bone (Saxophonist) Rudy Miranda (Drums) Ammiel Warner (Hammond Organ and Keyboard) Scott Greenaway (Bass Guitar) Track Listing for A.E.B. 1) - Drive It Home 2) - Hot In Here 3) - Jokers Smile 4) - I Surrender 5) - Love Strike Australian born Adam Eckersley, formed the brilliant 5 piece Adam Eckersley Band early in 2010. The track I have singled out is: Hot In Here - I had to choose this track. This is smooth, easy blues and takes you deep into another realm. A realm of where blues rules and these are the kings. The tracks I have set aside for this review are: 1) Laying Down Line - This is an absolutely brilliant song. 2) Standing On The Moon - This is an upbeat track about life and understanding.
