Nigel Walsh / Press

“He begins to play, and at first I think PLEASE, no more amateurs! But as he gets into his first tune, there's something that sticks with me - it's undefinable - but there are no gimmicks, no vast pedal board...just him, a bassist, and a drummer that coincidentally had no rehearsal, but what's coming out is genuine, it's him... its undeniably his vision. I'm a seasoned vet of the rock scene from '67 to now and I'm not entertaining any newbie, wannabe goof ball kid that thinks he's got a new angle on entertainment, but he does, and it's good. He's humble, you sense it, and there's no pretense. The harmonica takes the solos and he doesn't need a burning lead guitar part. It's all encapsulated in the song - he serves the song. There's nothing else needed. It's a true American form of music, and the delivery is satisfying. He nails what he does, and the simplicity of it all leaves the audience wanting more. It just plain felt good.”
