Mr. Clay Fiske
Bassist for The Smokin' Burnouts
Educator of the mind by day and the soul by night. My musical influences are diverse as music itself. I am an avid listener of old punk rock as much as I am old country and honky tonk. I will listen to an occasional jazz piece as well as an old school hip hop tune. I gravitate toward singer / songwriters who write songs you that create movies in your mind. I love nasally growling vocals as much as I do beautiful harmonies. As for the sounds of a guitar: twang, grit, fuzz, clean; I like them all. As a bassist, I crave warmer tones. I am typically a pocket player. My weapons of mass destruction are a Fender Jazz, Fender 51 Precision ri, Rickenbacker 4003, Mesa Boogie Walkabout head with 2 Genz Benz 12's, a GK Fusion 550 with a 4x10, and a 2x10. Our drummer BJ started calling me Mr. Fiske because I am a public school teacher.
