"Colossus", the brand new video from FREYA, the Syracuse, New York-based band fronted by Karl Buechner (EARTH CRISIS, PATH OF RESISTANCE), can be seen below. The song comes off FREYA's new album, "Paragon Of The Crucible", which was released on November 5 by Holy Mountain Music in America and Deadlight Entertaiment internationally. The cover artwork for the CD was conceived by guitarist Brendon Flynn.
“When they (Freya)debuted one of the outing's song last month, Terrorizer described Freya's sound as "typified by huge, chunky riffs, liberal splashes of aggression and subtle hints of melody." We're inclined to agree. But don't take our word for it; stream the whole album right now below!”
“Me and Lane have talked about Freya a few times and I am proud to present to you a making of video for the bands new album Paragon Of The Crucible, which will be released soon.”
“This morning Decibel is pleased to exclusively premiere this video interview with Freya guitarist/visual artist Brendon Flynn in which he discusses the intricate, elegant artwork he created for the band’s most diverse and intriguing offering yet, Paragon of the Crucible.”
“Free 4 song EP "Ghost Echoes" by Freya available on Revolver!”
“Freya streaming the new track featuring Paul Waggoner of BTBAM!”
“The song is both heavy and progressive. It’s jolting at the start and then makes an unexpected transition into something quite moody and beautiful. As the song progresses it continues to evolve and transform, anchored by those jolting verse riffs and Buechner’s fiery, harsh vocals. And the melody is quite memorable. ”
“Crushing metal titans Freya are debuting ‘Colossus’, a brand new song from their upcoming fourth record ‘Paragon of the Crucible’, exclusively with Terrorizer.”
"I was truly honored to be asked to be a part of this record. I have great respect for the Freya guys and their musicianship, and it was a real privilege to be able to add my little touch with a guitar solo."
"Freya remind you of how it first felt when you discovered metal - their sheer power, physical prowess and sonic punch just gives you that audio rush that you've been needing for so long"
"Freya's new album is solid and unique; two concepts that are lacking in today's over-saturated metal scene. The original sound they produce on Paragon of the Crucible will satisfy the metal community in a big way"
“The second song is the title track and it’s a high-energy thrasher, bare-knuckled like a street brawler and groovy as fuck.”
“FREYA, the Syracuse, New York-based band featuring EARTH CRISIS frontman Karl Buechner, has entered More Sound Studios with producer Jason "Jocko" Randall (THE RED DEATH, IF HOPE DIES) to begin recording its new album, "Paragon Of The Crucible", for an early 2012 release.”
