“Earlier this week I received a gift from the southern rock angels in the form of Eli’s “Sacred Ground” cd. I found myself unable to get the songs out of my head after one listen. Still tonight I am blasting it in the background while writing. Simply put I can not get enough. Produced by John Kurzweg (Puddle Of Mudd, Jewel, Scott Stapp) and recorded at Gasoline Alley Studios in Tallahassee, Florida “Sacred Ground” delivers. Lance Owens serves up powerful vocals with raw emotion that can be felt on every song. Gritty, edgy, hard hitting it’s all here. On drums, Jamie Majors provides the strong backbone that stands out on every song. Jamie proves he can rock it hard in every aspect of this album. Guitar gifted Kelly Love soars throughout with riffs and solos that can only be described as pure indulgence for the listener. The finger magic of Charlie Roberts on keyboards and the bountiful rhythm of Derrick Davis on bass help hold the signature sound of Eli together.”
“The result is always the same; you are left wanting more. I had a hard time picking just one favorite because I loved each song for it’s own sound. The songs “I Feel So Alive” and “Haters” are heavy groove rockers that hit you right between the eyes. The rocktastic feel of “Sacred Ground” stands alone. If you love to hear powerful rock laden tunes then “The Sun” is sure to set its’ hooks into your soul. The ass kicking song “Judgment Day” had me from the start. Thunderous and hard rocking vocals set this one apart. The beautiful, melodic opening of “Learn How To Fly” turns into a ball of fire that will have you singing along in a matter of seconds. You can see the video for “Sacred Ground” on YouTube as well as the bands Facebook page. Check out their website http://www.elirocks.com to see where you can pick this one up and catch a future show. You will not be disappointed. Christina Coy”
“Darrell Millar of Killer Dwarfs says of the title track video "SACRED GROUND":"Wow. I watched it and very well done. Sounds great and looks great. Congrats. I played Rocklahoma in May. Blackberry Smoke was there. You guys have some of that"”
“Have I said this thing ROCKS yet? Well uh… It Rawks! As if you didn’t already know that, merely by knowing this legendary band’s sterling history. But if by chance you have never heard of ELI, you must have this Cd and find out for yourself. But there is more… as for the production, Kurzweg’s hand was not the only one stirring the pot. Russ Fowler, engineer for Stone Temple Pilots, added what is described by the band as extra “creative juice”, but only the magicians themselves know exactly what that is. (Although I heard it through the vine, that he cut most of the tracks on “Sacred Ground”, “Kalie”, and “The Sun”). Jerry Gaskins of Gasoline Alley also played a crucial role not only in the production, but added more than a few touch’s on the Keys.”
