“BROOMFILLER – ‘Third Stage Propellor Index’ "...tons of melody, plenty of the punky attitude they’re going for and the whole thing comes together really nicely. Carrying an uplifting air to it, something about this says, ‘breath of fresh air’ and I’m liking it. Lots. An easy listen, performed with that sense of laid-back professionalism with which you can relax instantly."”
"Like I keep saying. Local is where the music is. In the bars, in the smaller venues, opening shows, and practicing in basements. This song is world class rock, this video is beautifully shot with an interesting story, and this band...keep an eye (and an ear) on them I love MUSIC.
“This melodic punk rock band is BROOMFILLER also posted in the forums, they are from Toronto Canda. Their biography and all their music account's you can read and view on their website, then now my album review of this band. The album is named " Third Stage Propellor Index " and the first song I going to review is " How long, So long " it is their first single. The song starts with a great instrumental rock intro, and when they begin to sing your ears immediately hear wonderful vocal sounds and it makes the song at first listen already amazing. I also notice they write lyrics with emotions and a message to the listeners, that is a good sign it keeps your attention by their lyrics. This song " Figure It Out Quickly " has again a wonderful intro with amazing tunes and instruments, they can very good the instruments in a professional way. This kinda music you want to listen live and every day at home, and when you have bought a ticket you would have a very good...(click to read more)”
““Third Stage Propellor Index”, is an album by Toronto’s melodic punk/alt-rock act BROOMFILLER. Released in 2015, “Third Stage Propellor Index” finds BROOMFILLER building on the solid foundations laid down by their previous albums “Watching the Girls Go Bi” and “Enter the Storm”. The album starts with “Agnostic Orgasmic” an aggressive rock number, just perfect for the opening track “Figure it Out Quickly” follows and shows the band at their alt-rock best. “How Long, So Long” is a real stand out track, a punchy rocker with an addictive chorus and a great choice for a single. We get a little serious with the excellently dark “High School Reunion” as vocalist Richard tells the listener that “a thousand wild horses couldn’t drag me back”. “Ordinary Day” is a catchy rocker with a great chorus and sounds like a mixture of Nirvana meeting Hole. “A Different Way of Falling” has BROOMFILLER rocking like the best of them, amazing harmony vocals and”
“For fans of Weezer, Filter and Nirvana, “Third Stage Propeller Index” by the band BROOMFILLER is a strong rock album for the college crowd. Young in sound, but mature in execution, Broomfiller rocks hard and refreshingly doesn’t repeat itself. Each song has its own vibe which keeps the album fresh for the listener, yet it all ties together as a solid band sound. Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Richard D. Leko has a youthfully detached angst to his voice. He occasionally sounds like he is in emotional pain and existential confusion but interestingly sounds like he’s ok with that. His songwriting style is to keep the songs straight forward while injecting the unexpected chord, arrangement or lyric twist to break it out of the mundane. Well done! Guitarist, backing vocalist Andres Mansilla does a bang up job nailing the punk, power pop chords changes and creative line work required to keep the action moving forward. Valerie Leko adds support on Keys and Synth...(continued”
“Aggression and Melody…Meet BROOMFILLER The brilliance of bands like Hüsker Dü or Social Distortion is all in the merging of aggression and melody. Bob Mould and Mike Ness for my money are two of the best at it. Of course Nirvana hammered it home in the 90s selling millions of records in the process and opening the floodgates. Toronto’s BROOMFILLER, led by multi-instrumentalist Richard Leko, have been using that blueprint for the past decade to release music that is built on aggression but consistently gives way to catchy hooks and pop melodies. Their third full-length – Third Stage Propeller Index is a clear progression from their earlier work (2002’s Watching The Girls Go Bi / 2006’s Enter the Storm) and straddles a line between Foo Fighterish anthems and the punk rock of Bad Religion. We checked in with Richard to get the low down. (CLICK TO READ MORE)”
“This is my second attempt at a review, this time it is for Canada’s BROOMFILLER and their single How Long, So Long off of their recent release Third Stage Propellor Index. Something about this makes me think of yesteryear and REM, and that’s not a bad thing in my eyes. I have been playing this song on the Pennsylvania Rock Show since its release and have no plans to stop. I can see myself listening to this album during my trek to work. While attempting to write this review I realized I wanted to hear more. After doing a little more digging I figured out that you can get a copy of all 3 of their releases through their store at broomfiller.com. In the mean time, take a moment to view the official lyric video: Read more at AK Music Scene: BROOMFILLER http://akmusicscene.com/?p=9570”
“Long-lasting Toronto tuneful punksters Broomfiller have let lose the second single, Tears Me Apart, from their 2015 return album, Third Stage Propellor Index. Around since the early 2000's, this is just the group's third album proper, and first in almost a decade. But energetic guitar and a feisty attitude never goes out of style, nor does a catchy song. Tears Me Apart's a fine example of what the band is about on this album. The melody and vocal stands out even though the punk staples are still in place. And while the music may not be quite hard core, the emotions are. Like other songs on the set (first single How Long, So Long), the raw side of love is being studied, split-ups and those who probably should. That's not to say Broomfiller can't bring it; Amputake crashes just fine, the guitar riff is nasty and discordant, and the whole thing is pleasantly unpleasant. It's tricky finding a balance between punk and musical, and Broomfiller does it well.”
“Broomfiller have been around since the early 2000’s, and have recently released a new ten track album called Third Stage Propellor Index. They are a Toronto based band, but have toured extensively throughout the US. Their sound is a mix of punk and alternative, with influences such as Goldfinger and Green Day, which you can clearly hear in their music. I find their music to be catchy yet they do still manage to make it unique with interesting guitar sequences. Not looking ahead of time what songs were singles I found myself enjoying the song “How Long, So long”, it is a bit of a slower pace compared to other tracks, but this song for me was very melodic. They have recently released a new single off the album as well so don’t miss that one. Another song I would suggest to check out would be “Figure it out Quickly”, quick, bouncy and rhythmic – for sure more on the punk side. This band seems to be getting quite a bit of media attention in .... - click link to read re”
“They’re not very genre-specific, claiming to play “punk-based heavy melodic alternative”. I’d add a touch of grunge into that mix, though they’re mainly alternative. That is, damn easy to listen to either as background music or to really get into as the mood takes you. Towards the end of last year they released their third album, Third Stage Propellor Index. It follows their earlier LPs Watching the girls go bi and Enter the Storm which were well received both in Canada and the US, where they toured a lot. A couple of tracks from this latest album are available as lyric videos and I’ve popped one of them below – the more recent, “Tears Me Apart”. On the evidence of the two songs released, they’re nicely downbeat, very tuneful and as catchy as those annoying seeds that get stuck on your dog’s hair when you take him for a walk in summer”
“Third Stage Propellor Index is melodic punk driven in the same lanes as Bad Religion or Millencollin and steered by the alt-rock style of the likes of Foo Fighters. “Agnostic Orgasmic” opens the record with a punky, driving rock song whose catchy vocals and energy prime the listener for the following ten tracks. With “Figure it out Quickly,” Leko is right in his element vocally. This track offers a great picture of the overall definitive style of the band. “Tears Me Apart”is one of the more inventive tracks that incorporates additional elements (percussion, etc.) to fill out the sound and take it beyond the straight ahead rock of much of the rest of the album. “Trant So” is a killer song that closes out the record with a definite Nirvana influence. Standout tracks include”How Long, So Long,” which is the perfect choice for a first single; a great modern rock song.”
“BROOMFILLER is proving that guitar driven Punk Rock is still alive and well. It’s always great to see and hear that this genre did not fade or die away after the 90’s. This is more or less the punk style that I enjoy the most. The vocals are smooth and coherent throughout each song. They have a sequence of hooks and riffs that drive each song. I also have to mention the vocals, especially in part of the backing vocals. The backing vocals really push the overall sound of the vocals, I found they really help move the lead vocals over in many different occasions. If this album was around back then I’m sure they would definitely found commercial success with the album way easier than it would be today. Right away BROOMFILLER wastes no time in hitting your ears with their heavy guitar laden songs. The opening track to the album is titled “Agnostic Orgasmic”. Right after the opening riff the melodic punk/rock vocals from Rich hit your ears...Click link to read more....”

“BROOMFILLER's new album is called Third Stage Propellor Index. It was released Aug 28/2015. For this record the Toronto, Ontario band enlisted Jordon Zadorozny (Blinker the Star/Courtney Love/Sam Roberts/Lindsey Buckingham) to produce. Zadorozny got the right combination of raw energy mixed with a crisp appeal that makes the record ideal for representing both our frenzied live performances and memorable hook-laden songs. In describing their music, BROOMFILLER says : "We're an unashamedly punk rock band. We've been compared to Foo Fighters holding hands with Bracket while sitting on a park bench made by Jawbox & Husker Du, eating a sandwich made by Bad Religion and Face to Face". The album kicks some serious ASS !! Full of great hooks and riffs !! Currently on a Canadian tour to promote the new album. Check out the links below for tour info and to LLB !! Listen to it, Like it and Buy it !!”

"Also from north of the border in Toronto, Canada, the punk rock band BROOMFILLER recently released their latest album "Third Stage Propeller Index." The energy on this album is raw and youthful with a maturity to their songwriting that is ready to rock you. Their new ten-song release begins with the classic punk sound of "Agnostic Orgasmic" and the follow-up "Figure It Out Quickly" has a modern Green Day quality to it's pop/punk potential. The hard rocking chorus of "High School Reunion" has BROOMFILLER being compared to the likes of the Foo Fighters, while the raw, hard-hitting "Amputake" has an originality to it as they cross between the boundries of punk and heavy metal. The album closes with the alternative pop/rock feel of "Trant So." To find out more about BROOMFILLER and their latest release "Third Stage Propeller Index," please visit broomfiller.com."
"Full of chugging riffs, BROOMFILLER pack a punch with their latest album as a heavy rhythm pounds it way through a punk rock vibe. Running at a frenetic pace, the gravelly-edged vocals run riot over each track in a melodic style, whilst the guitars crunch with an immense sound."
“Imagine Ozzy Osbourne turns punk and re-titles himself BROOMFILLER!”
“This band has what it takes to be among the greats in the business of music, this music is like a new energy drink. With each sip of "Enter The Storm" you get a burst of music energy that makes your hair stand on end!”
